We were 23 of the CMPB and of the CGH to stride over the labs and the cellars of this museum full of recollections.
The department of geology and of mineralogy opened us exceptionally its doors on Saturday , January 18, 2003.
This department is, in association with some universities, a centre of advanced research dedicated to the geology of Africa as well as a centre of broadcasting of the acquired knowledge since the colonial time.
It is indeed the agent of an important patrimony, accumulated and kept patiently, concerning the cartography and the geology of Congo, Rwanda and Burundi, and this since the foundation of museum in 1898.
The collections contain 4 shutters: cartotheque, the archives, the library and the collections of minerals, rocks and fossils.
